About the project

Scandinavian Interiors presents designer furniture through a catalog and product experience built around configuration. The product page connects room photography, product information, material choices, dimensions, pricing, downloadable resources, and an inquiry action.

The challenge

Furniture decisions combine visual preference with practical constraints. A buyer needs to understand how a piece looks, how it can be configured, and whether it fits the intended space. Professional specification also calls for information that can be carried into a wider project.

The interface needs to connect those decisions without losing the calm, image-led presentation expected of a furniture brand.

The design response

Move from context to detail. The product overview combines an image gallery with the model, manufacturer, finish swatches, description, product facts, and a clear route into configuration. Room photography establishes context before the configurator isolates the piece for closer evaluation.

Keep the configuration together. A large product preview sits beside controls for upholstery, supports, and dimensions. The same panel includes the total and an “Add to inquiry” action, keeping the proposed configuration and its commercial next step in the same place.

Support specification work. Download actions for a specification and commercial proposal sit alongside the configurator. A separate area offers 3D model formats. These resources extend the product page's usefulness beyond browsing and into planning and documentation.

Design for incompatible choices. A dedicated state explains when an upholstery choice is incompatible with a support material and highlights the relevant option. The file also includes loading and error states, giving the configuration story more depth than a single ideal screen.

The design

The design connects inspiration, evaluation, configuration, and inquiry within one product journey. Warm neutral surfaces, restrained typography, and deep green actions give the furniture room to lead while keeping technical choices visible.

Design takeaway

A premium product experience becomes more useful when its visual presentation and specification tools support the same decision.
