About the project
R.E.D. presents an automotive product range through a brand website with a catalog, dedicated selection pages, supporting content, and purchasing information. The vehicle selector offers entry through a registration number or VIN.
The challenge
Selecting an automotive product involves more than choosing a familiar name or package. The interface needs to connect the visitor's vehicle with relevant product information and make the basis of the selection visible.
That relationship also has to remain understandable in a compact mobile layout.
The design response
Use the vehicle as an entry point. The selector provides separate registration-number and VIN tabs. This gives the visitor a concrete starting point before the product results.
Show the vehicle context beside the results. The mobile design places technical vehicle information after the input and before the product cards. Keeping that context in the same sequence makes the association between the lookup and the displayed products easier to inspect.
Maintain a clear product hierarchy. Product cards combine a packshot, title, supporting information, and a price action. The white content area contrasts with the black navigation and footer, while red accents identify tabs and actions.
Place the selector within a wider site. The file also includes catalog, brand, certificate, search, contact, purchasing, authentication, and popup pages. The selector is a focused task within that broader structure.
The design
The design makes vehicle-based discovery an explicit part of the product experience. Its clearest portfolio story is the sequence from a vehicle identifier to visible vehicle context and product results.
Design takeaway
A recommendation interface should show enough context for the user to understand what the displayed results refer to.
